Soltec, a company specializing in photovoltaic energy solutions, has appointed David Menéndez Martín as its new general manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). In this role, Menéndez will lead the company’s operations in the region with the goal of driving new business opportunities, deepening its presence in priority markets, and developing new avenues for growth, drawing on Soltec’s international experience and technological capabilities.

His appointment further strengthens Soltec’s international structure, which is based on a regional management model capable of responding more directly to the specific characteristics of each market. For the various locations across EMEA, this approach will enable the company to continue leveraging its expertise and technological capabilities in a diverse and evolving region, where efficiency, performance, and project optimization are becoming increasingly important.

David Menéndez has more than 20 years of experience in the energy and renewable energy sectors, with a career that combines technical knowledge of renewable energy and electrical systems with expertise in strategy, project development, operations, and investment. His multidisciplinary background has enabled him to approach the energy transition from different perspectives and to work in markets with varying characteristics and needs.

Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions at international companies such as GE Power, Woodward, Siemens Gamesa, and Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV). At FRV, he led the global strategy and business development for energy storage, contributing to the company’s international expansion.

Based in Madrid, Menéndez has also lived and worked in Germany and London, an experience that has allowed him to develop an international perspective on the energy sector and firsthand knowledge of various European markets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Renewable Energy in Electrical Systems, both from Carlos III University of Madrid.
